You must bring a photo ID to the polls with
you in order to vote!

Register to vote

To register to vote in the state of Georgia, you must be:

A citizen of the United States
A legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you wish to vote
At least 18 years of age by election day

Also, you may not register to vote if you are currently:

Serving any sentence imposed by the conviction of a felony
Judicially determined to be mentally incompetent

In the state of Georgia, you do not have to register by political party to vote in the state's regular primaries or general elections.

You can get a form from the Secretary of State's office, or any Board of Elections office. You can also download the form from the Secretary of State's office and then print it out. (To complete and print this form, you will need Adobe Acrobat, which you can download free from the Adobe site.)

You may mail your completed form, or present it in person to the Office of the Secretary of State or to your appropriate County Board of Elections. You cannot submit your voter registration form via fax.
